Circle Lens Review - Hana SPC Hyper Circle Brown

These lenses were a big seller in 2010 on http://www.pinkyparadise.com/.  If you are looking for the dolly-eyed look, this one is for you.  It definitely enlarges the iris while appearing natural if you have dark brown eyes.  I found them to be too large for my taste especially since I wear circle lenses everyday, but they are cute for a night out or if you want your eyes to pop.  They also are very comfortable to wear.

Plato's Closet

Stopped by Plato's Closet to see what I could get for some clothes I don't wear anymore.  Looked around as they inspected my items and I found 2 really cute sweater vests - $6.00 each!  The first one is a longer, black, shawl-like, ribbed-knit one that has a racerback.  It's shorter in the front and longer in the back.  Pictures never do justice, but it's super cute and versatile.  The second one is cobalt and black in color and it definitely has a weird shape, but I had an idea on how to fix it, so I bought it.  I stopped by Hancock Fabrics and picked up a yard of 1" black grosgrain ribbon and 2 brushed gold buttons for about $3.00.  You can see what I did in the picture below.  It looks so much better now when I put it on.

Happy Halloween!!!

Bronzers

I wear bronzer 365 days of the year, so, I wanted to share with you which bronzers I use and love.  I use 2 different ones depending on the situation.  My skin tone is light/medium...  The first is VSMakeup (Victoria's Secret) Baked Bronzer in Sun Goddess.  They don't carry this year round and they seem to change it up slightly everytime a new line comes out, but it always does it's job (just make sure it's the VSMakeup line).  This is a bit darker on me and has more sheen, so I like to use this more for night time or when I want to look more made up.  The other is Physician's Formula Baked Bronzer in Baked Tan.  This is great for everyday wear.  It has a nice neutral "tan" color, and the perfect amount of shimmer.  If you don't like shimmer, these are not for you.  Also, both bronzers are very affordable.  Both are about $12.00 and they last a long time.  You can find the VSMakeup at any Victoria's Secret that carries Beauty in the store and Physician's Formula is at any local drugstore, Target, Wal-Mart, Ulta, etc...

Heritage 1981

I never really paid attention to the Heritage 1981 line at Forever21, but I actually like it (a lot)!  I'm fortunate enough to live in a big city where they have an endless amount of shopping/stores.  It was my first time entering the stand alone, Heritage 1981 store at Woodfield Mall.  I wanted to buy lots and lots, but I'm contained myself and only bought the following:  a cute purple dress (an awesome purple, I must say - $18.90), a peach/navy blouse (with beautiful detailing - $18.90) , and a white knit snood aka infinity scarf ($8.50).
The above picture doesn't do justice for the color.  The below picture is the actual color.  Isn't it beautiful?!
This snood/scarf is super, super white in color.  It's vibrant and has thin, silver metallic thread running throughout it.  It's the perfect amount of metallic.  I can't wait to wear it once it get a little colder, which is probably soon.

ASOS Dress Sale

Last Sunday, I took advantage of the 1/2 off dress sale at http://www.asos.com/.  I got the Vero Moda Barocco Print Shift Dress originally $43.13 - got it for $21.56.  I wasn't sure if I was going to like it when I saw it in person, but I got it in the mail yesterday and I absoutely love it.  I can picture the dress like how the model is wearing it with boots or with opaque black tights and some cute black, patent or suede chunky-heeled platform pumps.  What do you think?

Neosporin Overnight Renewal Lip Therapy

Everyone has their favorite lip balm, right?  Well, if you're like me, I always have to put lip balm on before I go to bed.  I got a coupon from Walgreens for $3 off a Neosporin Overnight Renewal Lip Therapy product.  I was like, "Huh, Neosporin has lip blam?"  I decided to get it because I had the coupon.  It's about $5.49 retail and with my coupon I paid less than $3 with tax.  This stuff is the bombdiggity - I'm not kidding you.  I put it on at night and my lips are softer than a baby's butt when I wake up.  It's non greasy, light and fragrance-free.  It also comes in a small packaging which is perfect for travel or to just throw into your makeup bag.  Bravo Neosporin, Bravo!  You've made a brilliant product and my lips want to kiss you!

Olive Oil

I use Olive Oil (yeah, the kind you buy at the grocery store) as my nighttime moisturizer.  After I wash my face, I take 2 drops of olive oil into my palms and rub into my face.  My skin soaks up the oil pretty quickly so it leaves my face with the perfect amount of moisture and not too oily.  This method might not be for people with really oily skin or acne prone skin, but this has worked for me for a long time.  Too make it easier, more space efficient and aethectically pleasing, I take my big bottle of olive oil (any kind) and pour it into my glass dropper that I purchased at The Container Store for $2.99.  It's simple, easy, and cost efficient!

Silver Nails - Nail Foils

I experimented with nail foils today.  This one was just a plain silver...  It was my first time, so they turned out a little messy, but practice makes perfect.  So how these work:
1. Make sure your nails are clean and free of an oils
2. Select and trim the foil to your nail shape
3. Peel the foil from the backing and lay the rounded edge against the cuticle
4. Use scissors to cut excess foil
5. Once in place, rub all areas of foil firmly
6. File off any remaining material in a gentle downward motion

They really don't last long, but there fun to wear for a couple of days.  They also peel off pretty easily if you don't like them.

CIRCLE LENS Review (Geo Natural Black)

Today, I'm going to review the Geo Natural Black Circle Lens that I got from http://www.pinklyparadise.com/.  These are nice lenses, not my favorite, but they're up there.  Comfort level is definitely a 10.  I feel like the "Geo" brand is very comfortable compared to the others.  The Geo Natural Black is obviously black in color and has a "circular saw" design.  The lenses look natural even with the design, but I just feel like they don't really pop compared to the Geo Fresh Brown that I reviewed yesterday.  I found them to make my dark brown irises look a lot darker, almost vampire-like.  Hey, if that's the look you're going for - these are the lenses for you!  It is almost Halloween!  Boo!

Maybelline FIT Me Pressed Powder

I have weird skin.  It's definitely combination with an oily t-zone and dryer cheeks, but I tend to get flakiness all over quite often.  I have it under control because I do exfoliate religiously.  Anyway, my point is that I typically never wear powder because it will highlight any flakiness there is on my face, but I went to the drugstore and picked up Maybelline FIT Me Pressed Powder.  I picked it up mainly because of it's packaging and I had a coupon.  Damn that Maybelline marketing team!  I have to say, I really like it.  I don't use it all over my face but I use it to set my foundation.  I pat some on my forehead, around my nose and chin.  It gives me a flawless look and it has a staying power for my liking (meaning I like my skin to look as natural as possible).  If I need to, I'll touch up maybe once a day.  It's about $7.99 at your local drugstore, plus there are always coupons.  TIP:  When you check out at your local Walgreens Cosmetic Counter, ask the cashier if there are any coupons, she will pull out this bin that has all the manufacturer's coupons).

We Found Love - Rihanna feat Calvin Harris

I'm kinda in love with this song right now. Makes me want to dance whenever I hear it. This video is intense!

Aviary

Had drinks and "bites" at Aviary last week...  Felt so fancy!  A girls gotta splurge every now and then.

CIRCLE LENS Review (Geo Fresh Brown)

Ahhh, the ever popular circle lens review.  I have gotten a handful a different lenses, but today I will be reviewing the Geo Fresh Brown.  First off, I have to say that these are my favorite.  I started wearing them back in January 2011.  I wear them everyday for 12+ hours.  I have read that they are not good to wear for long periods of time, but I have not had a problem.  I was a little concerned at first b/c I could not wear regular colored lenses.  They irritated my eyes and all I saw was fuzziness, but with these Geo Fresh Brown, I see perfectly fine.  Once in a while, I'll feel that they're a little dry so I'll use my Refresh Tears (Lubricant Eye Drops) and I'm good to go.  Also, the life span of these lenses are supposed to be a year, but since I wear them everyday for hours at a time, I have had to change them out for new ones about every 3 months.  Oh, I also have to mention that I really wanted natural looking circle lenses and these do the job.  They definitely make my eyes prettier and stand out more, but not so noticeable that people know you're wearing colored lenses.  Out of the 10 months that I've worn them, I've only had a handful of people ask if I'm wearing colored lenses but that's b/c they saw the lens shift in my eye when I looked sideways (hope that makes sense).  Overall, the comfort level is 10 out of 10, and they are natural looking.

I get my lenses from http://www.pinkyparadise.com/.  They have a great variety, great prices and if you do the expedited shipping, they'll be at your door in less than a week.  You also get great freebies, like cute contact cases, hair acc's, and facial products.  Check out my pics below.  Email me if you have any questions!

H&M Pins and Bracelet

Yesterday, I stopped by H&M and picked up a cute bracelet for $3.95 and a set of 4 bobby pins for $5.95.  In the set of bobby pins, there were 2 golds sparrows and 2 with orange beading.  I bought them b/c I really like the sparrow ones minus the dangly things, sooo...I removed the "dangles" and added 2 of them to the bracelet.  What do you think?

Red Lip Gloss

L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lip Gloss in #315 Rebel Red.  Typically $9.99 at most drugstores, but there are always sales and L'oreal coupons in the Sunday paper.  This lip gloss has staying power and with just one coat, you get a nice red shade - with 2 coats or more you get a vibrant berry red color.  In the picture below, my top lip is bare and the bottom has 1 coat.  In the 2nd, both have only 1 coat, so you can imagine the color you can achieve with multiple coats.
